Is burial at sea legal in the UK? Yes, but you can’t just row out and chuck Granny over the side. You need a licence, an approved location, and to follow some rules about the coffin and how it’s prepared. It’s not cheap, but it is possible — and some people love the idea of their final rest being with the waves.
