Thanks for running the celebrant plus course over the past couple of days. Although I knew this stuff was possible, you have given me the confidence to go forward and implement all the knowledge I now have. To step forward knowing that what l’m advocating for is a better choice for families at what is a bloody hard time in their lives. Offering real choice to people to have the sort of funerals they want – to take back control to put them back in the driving seat is so empowering- at a time when the world feels like it spinning out of control! Attending this course with Kate and Kate has opened up a whole new world for me. After feeling disheartened with the funeral profession, and my role as a celebrant within it, I started to educate myself on more diverse and inclusive ways of holding funeral ceremonies. I had seen Kate and Kate speak at an event about Coffin Club, but at that time funerals weren’t my focus. It was now time to revisit what they offered and I am so glad that I did. Not only did I meet the fabulous Kates again, I heard, and saw, their passion for offering Celebrant-plus funeral ceremonies. I was inspired and can definitly see that this is the way forward for me, and the profession. Where do I even start about the Celebrant-plus course? The knowledge that Kate and Kate have about funerals is second to none. I learned so much on the course most of which I hadn’t even considered.
Doing the Celebrant-plus course gave me so much confidence in my own ability and my stance as an independent funeral celebrant. I took my first booking recently that didn’t come through a funeral director. It was amazing.
