Hold onto your hats, folks—big news alert! We are absolutely thrilled to announce that we’ve been named finalists for The Good Funeral Awards 2024 in not one, but two prestigious categories:
Best Funeral Support – for Coffin Club UK – 
And
Celebrant of the Year – for Kate and Kate Celebrants. 
Cue the confetti and the sound of a hundred champagne corks popping!
Now, let’s take a trip down memory lane. This isn’t our first rodeo. We’ve snagged the trophy three times before and even cosied up in the runner-up spot once. But every year feels like the first time — nail-biting, heart-pounding, and absolutely exhilarating. It’s like the Oscars of the funeral world, minus the red carpet, celebrities and designer outfits – but trust us, we’d take a hearse over a Maserati any day of the week!
Why This Matters to Us
Being recognised in the Best Funeral Support category is a testament to the heart and soul we pour into our work. Funerals are deeply personal and emotional experiences, and our mission is to provide as much information as possible about the choices available, in the most non-judgmental way we can. This nomination reaffirms that we’re making a real difference in people’s lives, and there’s nothing more rewarding than that.
What This Recognition Means
And then there’s the Celebrant of the Year category. Here, the competition is fierce, but we’ve always put the support we give to our local community front and centre in everything we do. And, as if that’s not enough… there’s more!: of the six celebrants vying for the title, four have been trained by us. That’s right, folks, our celebrant training programme is basically the Hogwarts of celebrant training. We’ve always known we had something special, and this recognition is the cherry on top of our celebrant sundae.
For us, these nominations are more than just shiny badges of honour—they’re a nod to the hard work, dedication, and passion that goes into everything we do. It’s a chance to reflect on our journey, celebrate our achievements, and look forward to the future with excitement and anticipation.
But it’s not just about us. These nominations shine a spotlight on the entire funeral industry, highlighting the importance of compassion, empathy, and support during life’s most challenging moments. They encourage us all to strive for excellence and continue to raise the bar. And within the celebrant world that is absolutely core to what we do – let’s raise up this fabulous profession!

So, what’s next? Well, sadly, we can’t make it along to the celebration this year (we’ve got weddings to conduct and we live a very long way away from Cornwall) – but we’ll be keeping a close eye on our socials and crossing our fingers for success. That said, win or lose, we already feel like champions and, knowing that if we don’t get the trophy it just might go to someone we trained, makes winning or not, just as sweet.
